Review: Luxe Organix Aqua Daily Sunscreen

As cliche as it sounds and I couldn’t agree more that SPF is an essential. We need protection from the harmful rays of the sun as it can have various damaging effects on our skin. Aside from our trusty skincare routine, we must also prioritize applying SPF on  the latter part of our routine.

UV exposure is one of the reasons that lead to premature aging. By wearing sunscreen every day, it will slow down the effects of aging on your skin, you will look youthful and radiant and believe me or not, your 40-year old self will thank you for this.  So I am on the search for the perfect sunscreen that is not only giving me protection but also lightweight and gives me a non greasy effect.

Good thing that I’ve found out about this Luxe Organix Aqua Daily Sunscreen. I bought this for Php 349.00 at Watsons and it holds 50ml of the product.

This aqua rich, lightweight and water resistant sunscreen provides broad protection with SPF 50 PA+++ for UVA and UVB. Its quick absorbing and non greasy formulation makes it perfect for everyday use and even suitable for sensitive skin. Made with additional benefits of Aloe Vera extract to keep skin supple and hydrated throughout the day.

How to Use: Apply a generous amount on the face and body. Put sunscreen after moisturizer or before make up. Re-apply throughout the day for better protection from UVA and UVB rays especially outdoors.

Active Ingredients: Aloe Vera Centella Asiatica & Calendula extracts.

The packaging is so nice and sleek at the same time. The bottle is also light perfect for travel and it comes with a pump which I do prefer for me to be able to control how much product it will dispense.

The sunscreen itself has a subtle and fresh vibe in it. I didn’t smell any “chemicals” at all which is great.

Overall Thoughts:

I’ve been using this product for quite a while now and I must say that there is no sticky feeling and I must say that they are true to their word that it is non-greasy. One and a half to two pumps is already enough for your face and don’t forget your neck as well. It dries up easily just wait for a minute or two and it is completely absorbed by the skin. This sunscreen feels so smooth and lightweight on the face. I love how it makes my skin glowing and dewy after applying and even when wearing makeup. I like the natural effect and it leaves my skin very hydrated and moisturized  and a huge plus that you will score this amazing product at a very low price. Overall, I love and highly recommended this product.

Lip glosses are now back on trend. As a 90's kid I am pumped up of this comeback and I must say I am  ready to a shiny and juicy lips back in action.

So I am in the search of the high quality and affordable glosses and I stumbled upon Clover* Beauty's Instagram page and after seeing those great reviews: that's it - SOLD.

My thoughts:

 First off, the glosses looks really pretty. It feels super nice, expensive looking and gives me all the rich woman vibes.  I can officially say that the hype is real. The gloss itself is not overly sticky; it has the right thickness and stickiness that I like in a gloss. It moisturizes my lips and makes my lips very attractive and juicy. Heaven shade is beautiful on its own or over a lipstick. New Flame and stripped are very beautiful on its own. If you want to maximize the shade/tint you may apply the glosses in multiple layers. The gloss is shinny and reflective and really pretty. It is definitely worth of your every penny because  it really delivers and you do get a nice product so go for it girl and live all your gloss dreams.

The One Who Turned 25 + Giveaway

I cannot believe that I made it this far. I am already 25 years old and despite the current situation, there are a lot of things to be thankful for. First off I want to thank God, for the gift of life, and my family and friends who always support me. I’ve planned to post this on  my actual birthday however, I chose to take a rest and relax on my birthday week. I had a simple birthday celebration because was not able to eat out and I need to work.

As I turn 25, and after all the obstacles that I’ve been through, here are things that I’ve realized and learned for the past 24 years.

Life is not okay sometimes but life must go on. I just want to let you know that it is okay not to be okay.Now that life is slowing down, today is the best time to focus on our mental health. It can be a  struggle especially if there is no one who can share your thoughts with. Always remember that you have those family and loved ones together with  this battle. It is okay to feel those negative emotions, what’s important are the things that we do about it.

This one is hard for me, to accept  that sometimes things  are not going on according to the plan. Don’t fight it, but instead acknowledge it and accept it. It is really great to validate what you’re feeling and it’s a good step in knowing yourself more.

Meditation is the key. It helps to clear out negative thoughts and focus on the present. It is also the simplest way to calm ourselves when things are getting out of hand. I am making a point to meditate everyday for at least 2 to 5 minutes of silence and breathe. 

This is the biggest challenge yet for me so far. For the past month, I’ve started on working out (better late  than never) to take  care of myself more and I cannot afford to be sick during this time of uncertainty. Alongside this is  to  eat healthier (though is it really hard for me. I really love to eat out) and let’s admit that healthier options are more expensive here in the Philippines

Let go
As the  saying goes: “ Let go of the things that do not spark joy on our lives”. So whenever I’ve recognized this emotion that is not serving a purpose in my life, I take time to feel it and let go afterwards.

And here are  the things that I’ve learned so far. Time really flies that fast. Til the next celebration.

8 Tips on How to Work "Effectively" from Home

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of companies are now implementing the Work From Home (WFH) scheme. I've been working from home for more than two months now. Since the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) was implemented, I was blessed enough to have resources to be able to work on the comfort of our home.

To be able to work and able to earn money during this time of uncertainty, I am beyond grateful. As a return even though I am working remotely full-time because of a health situation it’s important to ensure that I am set up to be productive.

As I am getting used to working from home, here are the tips that helped me to work from home productively and efficiently.

1. Get a good night sleep

This is the thing that most of us, even I neglecting. Go to bed and wake up at a consistent time helped me to be more motivated  the next day.  I am getting used to sleep around 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM and wake up at 5:00 in the morning. In that way, I have sufficient time to get ready for work the next day.

2. Start your day with a clear head/mind

Do something for yourself at the start of the day. The last thing that we want to do is to go straight to work after waking up. Have a morning routine solely focused on yourself. I do stretches and workout if possible every morning ( I am  joining the Chloe Ting challenge bandwagon). I always make a point to eat breakfast and drink some tea or coffee depends on the mood.

3. Get ready for the day

This is in conjunction with point number two. For me, it is important to get yourself ready for work. It will help you get in the right headspace for work. It can be as simple as taking a bath and wearing comfortable clothes.

4. Have a dedicated workspace

Having a separate workspace is essential for working from home. It separates from  the "work  mode" to "chill mode".  Have a mini table and set it up as your work station, if not possible you may use the dining table. If the only option is your bed, what I can  suggest is to sit perpendicular to your sleeping positions. 

5. Write a to-do list / Have a work schedule

This depends on the type of the work that you have. If you have a 9 to 5 job, you should stick your work schedule like I do. On  the other hand, if you are a freelancer, it would be really helpful if you have a to - do list of the things that needs to be accomplished for you to be organized and get things done.

6. Focus one thing at a time

I know multi-tasking is important, however if you want to have more things to be done you need to focus one thing at a time. This will reduce errors and confusions. If you are doing your task simultaneously the tendency is your mind is jumping all over the place and will be hard to refocus.

7. Minimize distractions

Be self aware of the distractions that is around you while working. I cannot say to remove the distractions because that is inevitable, so the best thing to do is to be aware and if possible minimize it. If you are easily distracted with your phone, try to put it far from your workstation. It is important to let your family know your set up. Tell them if there is a need to minimize their voices that really help to avoid distractions.

8 . Take a break

Taking a break if the things go out of hand is important. Having a dedicated schedule for your lunch break and short breaks helps to prevent burnout. I also suggest is to stand and do some stretches if you are sitting for a long period of time.

These  are the tips that are really helpful for me to work from home effectively. This might sound simple but believe me, this is easier said than done.

Fall In Love With Yourself Again? Here's how

Do you feel like sometimes you are not good and capable enough? Do you feel that everything that you do results in failure? Have you ever wondered what life would be like if  you could learn how to love yourself again?

When I decided to change my attitude and mindset, I fell in love with life again. Not only that it helped my mental health, but it also allowed me to pursue my passions. Today I want to share with you the 8 ways to love yourself.

• Know your worth

We might think that love needs something to be earned and work for. We always feel that pressure to perform and meet their expectations to feel loved and accepted by others.We should realize that it’s far more fulfilling to love and appreciate ourselves for who we are. We need to love ourselves and know our worth first before loving others.

• Stop the comparison game

It’s so easy to compare yourself to others without even realizing that you are. Comparison steals your peace of mind and happiness. It fills our mind with self doubt. We will start to ask ourselves that we are not good enough when in fact we really are.

I want you to remember that, we don’t walk on the same path, their Chapter 25 is way different from our first chapter. Work your butt off and always put our best foot forward in everything that we do.

• Do the things that you love

You love to sing? Sing your heart out. You love to dance? Dance till you drop. You love to paint? Paint that masterpiece. Start doing things that we are passionate about. Now that we are older it’s harder to make time to do and do things that you love. I believe that doing things that ignites your passion will help you to be more motivated and productive. 

• Mindset change

I have that darkest mindset that you can think of. I felt that I didn't have a real purpose. I always think the worst in every situation. As I became aware that those limiting beliefs hindered on fueling my passion, I did my best to think positively, and always looked on the bright side of things. Believing in myself and in my abilities was a complete game changer. I was able to show off and share to everyone the things that I am passionate about.

Positive affirmation also helps in cultivating a positive mindset. Here are some of of my favorite positive affirmations:

• I am worthy
• I am doing my best
• Struggle doesn't last forever
• I only fail if I quit
• I am capable of reaching greatness

• Live at the present moment

Stop living in the past and start living in the now. This is an important advice. Too many of us are focused on everything that we did “wrong” in our past and let that stop us from living in the present. Past is past, you've may done bad things or made wrong decisions but there's no turning back. What we can do is to learn from those mistakes from the past to avoid doing these on the present.

They say, if you keep thinking about the past, you are stressed and if you keep thinking of the future, you are anxious.

• Know your WHY | Finding your purpose

When you know the purpose of your life, you tend to live a more meaningful existence than those who don’t. You tend to live each day to the fullest, because you know who you are, where you’re coming from, and where you’re going.

We don’t get burned out because of what we do. We get burned out because we forget why we do it

How can we better identify and express our why?  Begin by answering these basic questions:
What do we do?
How do we do it?
For whom do we do it?
Why do we do it? 
Once you answer these questions you will notice that you have a clearer direction in your life.

Self acceptance and starting accepting  your flaws

It's time to accept the fact that no one judge you more than you judge yourself. This means that you need to accept who you are and not who you think you're supposed to be. This also means that you need to accept everything about yourself - good or bad. 

Always remember as cliche as it sounds that "nobody is perfect", we commit mistakes we cannot undo it but we can learn from it.


Gratitude starts with looking or noticing the goodness in life. Have a gratitude journal or use the Notes app on your phone. List three things that you are grateful for everyday. Once this habit has been established you will notice how it will turn your life 360 degrees.


All of these tips are easier said than done. I am not encouraging you to do all of it at the same time. Follow your intuition and do it at  your own pace.

What's up? | Life Lately vol. 2

Hi there. It’s been a while since I posted the volume 1 of this series. I wasn’t able to post that much since life has been challenging for the past months. Hopefully, I can turn things around so that I could post an update at least every month.

This post will also be a roundup of the first three months of the year 2020.

- I volunteered!

               This is part of my 2019 New Year’s Resolution and I was able to achieve it this year (better late than never). With the initiative of my cousin, we gave relief goods to the Taal Volcano eruption victims. My cousin was able to ask for donations (in-kind and material) that we packed the day before. We went to San Luis Batangas because she was advised that it was the municipality who received the least amount of donations. I was blessed to have an employer that was considerate enough and allowed me to go on a half-day at that time. That was a heart-warming experience. Seeing the faces of the people that we were able to help ease all of our stress and tiredness that we’ve gone through.

- First Travel of the year | Dingalan Aurora

               This is my first and hopefully not the last travel of the year. I’ve made a post dedicated to this travel.

- I attended UP Fair for the first time

               This is my first time attending a concert. It was a great time with my friends and we were able to see local hip-hop artists, enjoy great food and party until midnight.

- Big Bad Wolf Sale

               For those who know me, I am a wide reader. I enjoy reading fictional and romance books. As I age, my book preference changed as well. I am into self and personality development books. I already started to read some self-help ebooks. All Bibliophiles can relate but we all know how good it feels reading physical books so I went to the Big Bad Wolf Booksale to take advantage of affordable goodies. I am looking Simon Sinek, Mark Manson, and Jen Sincero books. Unfortunately, those books were out of stock so I’ve looked for several self-help books to add up on my reading list.

- 1st Work Anniversary

               I’ve spent my 1st work anniversary on my current employer. I am working on a Telecommunications company based in Australia. I started as technical support, (we all knew as a call center agent). One year has passed and I am now the Floor Support of our team. It feels good when you know that you started from scratch and what I’ve achieved so far. I’ve also applied for a promotion however I was rejected, as Oprah Winfrey says; “Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness. I know that there are a lot of things that I need to improve on especially on handling my emotions and I am looking forward to what will happen in the next few years of my career here.

- COVID-19 // Luzon is under ECQ // Work from home

               Just a few weeks ago, the world was shaken by a pandemic and the Philippines was also affected. Due to the spread of this viral disease, Luzon is on the state of Enhanced Community quarantine whereas people are not allowed to go outside unless there is a need to go to the hospital to see a doctor or to buy foods. Big establishments such as malls and restaurants are closed and social distancing has been ‘strictly’ implemented. In line with this, to make sure that the employees are not at risk, our employer allowed us to do work from home. Amidst this chaos happening, I am fortunate that I am part of the company that is letting me earn still at the convenience of being at home.

Dingalan Aurora | Travel Diaries

This is the most spontaneous travel that I've done to date.

Dingalan Aurora, dubbed as Batanes of the East, gives adventure a new meaning. From picturesque beach, breathtaking summit and amazing rock formation you will never regret this amazing experience.

Approximately 5 to 6 hours drive from Manila lies this gem. Many of us wanted to see the beauty of Batanes which is situated at the northern part of our country. Considering that going to Batanes has the most expensive airfare that you can get within the country, it makes us difficult for us to visit it.

This alternative will never fail us and it will ignite your desire to go to Batanes.

Together with my college friends, we explore the beauty of Dingalan. It was a daytour, but we made most out of it. 

Our first stop over, this iconic "I love Dingalan" marker. It was raining that time but still we were able to manage to take a *LOT* of photos.

Since there was a rain on our way there, we were considered ourselves lucky to see this amazing view. After the rain, a rainbow showed up which actually reminded me that there is always hope for everyone.

The squad before going to the island. We were escorted by a tour guide whose actually in-charge of our trip. We went for a boat ride for almost 45 minutes.

The water was so clear and pristine. On this day and age that Lightroom is a trend to enhance the color, saturation and the likes of every photo, you don't need this app at all.

Our next stop was the Rock Formation. Fear consumed me at first because the waves are too high and we have to jump off the boat while the tour guide assists us.

Just a gentle reminder to be more careful because the rocks are too sharp. If you are planning to go there make sure to bring diving shoes or hiking sandals to be more comfortable and enjoying at the same time.

When in Dingalan, the so called “Batanes of The East” was the main highlight of our adventure. After 20 to 30 minutes of trekking we were able to see the breathtaking mountain view deck of the Dingalan Summit.

A trivia: I don't know how to swim, and I have a fear of heights. So this trip brought out the best of me. I learned to conquer somehow my fears and I've realized that life is really better when we go outside our comfort zone.

Surely this is one of a kind adventure. I would really love to go back and I will never get tired of it.
